Hooray for Book #3, Marvelous Me!

Hi Friends,

I'm excited to share some updates with you. Not only am I working on my latest book, scheduled for release in Fall 2024 with Paraclete Press, but I've also been busy crafting the newest addition to the Super Obi Book series.

In Marvelous Me, Obi's quest for the perfect Show-and-Tell day takes an unexpected turn for the worse, leading him to a profound discovery—the extraordinary power of his uniqueness.

Think back to your school days. Do you recall moments when you compared yourself to your classmates? Did you ever experience teasing or mistreatment? Perhaps you lost something dear to you at school. How did you handle those situations, and would you do things differently now?

The truth is comparison can be detrimental. In Marvelous Me, Obi learns these valuable lessons throughout his school day.

With the guidance of God's Word, young readers will grasp the message from Psalm 139:14, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are [God's] works."

Now, I need your help. It's time to decide on the final book cover, and I value your opinion. Given that Obi's big sister, Adanna, plays a more significant role in Book #3, I'm contemplating including her on the cover.

Please keep in mind that these are initial concepts, not the final sketches.

Note: Your gut reaction is usually the most authentic one.

Which book cover do you like best?

  • Option 'A'

  • Option 'B'

  • Option 'C'

Along with the standard book specifications (8x10 size, beautifully illustrated full-color pages, and a bonus prayer and devotional page), the book will also feature two bonus coloring pages with positive affirmations woven into the storyline. These pages are designed to help children easily revisit these affirmations daily, reinforcing that, like Obi, they are extraordinary creations of God.

Still undecided about which cover you prefer? Don't overthink it; go with your instinct!

Stay tuned for pre-order information; it will be coming your way soon. Until then, enjoy the below sketch from the book. Your support means the world to me!

Many Blessings,

Dominique

Love the passage and theme with Adanna included! Adorable illustrations, specially the one in the car praying. I would recommend making the Obi figure just the same line weight as Adanna with the environment in a slightly lighter weight than the figures so that they are the focus of interest instead of the surroundings. Also, the human touch of both characters holding hands is very sweet and more relatable than the other choices, further teaching the message of sister-brother partnership, mutual care and family devotion. Well done and prayers will be sent your way so it helps many families...
